Pedrozzi Scholar Alumni Highlights
It is exciting to see where scholarship recipients go after completing their degrees. If you’re a Pedrozzi Scholar, we would love to hear from you. Please send updates to info@pedrozzi.org

Sofia Moufarraj, 2021 Pedrozzi Scholar, shares:
“After graduating high school, I swam four years on the Women’s Swim Team at California State University East Bay and earned my Bachelor’s in Business Administration. The following year I crossed the pond to study at Loughborough University of London, where I completed my Master’s in Digital Marketing. Upon graduating, I joined a UK-based company, OnePlan, an online events software, as a Marketing Assistant. I had the opportunity to work with clients such as the 2024 Paris Olympics, F1 Silverstone and World Triathlon. During this time I lived and worked as a digital nomad, visited more than ten countries and learned how to communicate with global audiences. Today I split my time in the U.S. as a Marketing Associate, Teacher, Swim Coach, and Flight Attendant with United Airlines. I am deeply grateful for the support of the Pedrozzi Scholarship, which helped me turn ambition into credentials, experiences, and impact.”
What an exciting journey, Sofia! We can’t wait to see where life takes you next!

Melissa Livingston, 2012 Pedrozzi Scholar, shares:
“I am currently a PhD Candidate at Oregon State University (expected graduation June 2026). My program is Science/Math Education, and broadly I focus on how teachers translate their professional learning into their teaching practice. I also teach preservice teachers at Oregon State University and serve as an Associate Editor for Kaleidoscope: Educator Voices and Perspectives, a biannual academic journal sharing stories from teachers about teaching, leading, and learning.
In my spare time, I am Board Chair of the Corvallis Indoor Park, a registered nonprofit organization that provides a safe, warm, and dry space for young children and their families to play. I also have three boys, ages 1, 4, and 6.”

Jessica Lan, 2011 Pedrozzi Scholar, shares:
“I’m so grateful for the support I received from the Pedrozzi Foundation back in high school, and it’s wonderful to see how it continues to uplift local students today. Since then, I’ve become a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and recently started my own private practice. I provide online therapy for adults, couples, and families across California, and I especially love working with college students and young adults. I specialize in supporting adults navigating the Asian American experience, often around stress, perfectionism, and cultural or generational conflict. To stay connected with the community and uplift Asian mental health, I host the only in-person gathering for Asian therapists in the greater Los Angeles area!”

Jordan Goodwin, 2019 Pedrozzi Scholar Shares:
“After graduating from UC Berkeley in spring 2023 with a degree in Legal Studies and a minor in theater, I started a full-time job at a criminal defense boutique in the Silicon Valley. There, I worked as a law clerk, assisting the firm’s attorneys with cases ranging from federal white-collar crime to low-level misdemeanors. This included reviewing discovery, drafting legal memos and motions, and working with clients to prepare biographical documents for mitigation letters. After two years at the firm, along with about a year of studying for the LSAT and applying to law schools, I am now beginning my first year as a J.D. candidate at Harvard Law School. Though I am only a month into the year, I have greatly enjoyed my time so far, and have especially enjoyed developing a stronger understanding of criminal law and improving my legal writing and research skills. I look forward to the years ahead, and in doing so, remain incredibly grateful to Pedrozzi for investing in me and my future.”

Megan Johnston, 2018 Pedrozzi Scholar Shares:
“After receiving my bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology from UC Berkeley, I worked in strategy consulting in LA. I now work in genomic sciences in product marketing and live in San Francisco. Outside of work, I enjoy backpacking, biking, and swimming, and I’m looking forward to traveling this summer.”
Megan began reviewing Pedrozzi Scholarship applications in 2025, she shares:
“I chose to become a Pedrozzi Foundation reviewer to give back to the organization that made a life-changing impact on my education. Writing about my personal journey and career aspirations for my scholarship application was a meaningful experience, and receiving the award allowed me to focus on my studies without the burden of financial stress. I’m grateful for the opportunity to now support and encourage the next generation of Livermore students as they pursue their own academic goals.”

Ni Sun-Suslow, 2008 Pedrozzi Scholar
Ni (Sunny) Sun-Suslow graduated from Granada High School in 2007. The Pedrozzi Foundation supported her through a degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology at UC San Diego, as well as a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of Miami. She completed an internship and fellowship at the Department of Psychiatry at the UC San Diego School of Medicine. Sunny is now a Board-Certified Clinical Neuropsychologist in private practice, where she focuses on diagnosing brain disorders in older adults. She lives in Carmel, CA and enjoys spending time with her husband, three children, and two dogs.
On volunteering her time as a Pedrozzi Scholarship application reviewer, Sunny shares:
“The Pedrozzi Foundation was instrumental in funding my undergraduate and graduate tuition. As an immigrant and the first woman in my family to pursue higher education, navigating the education system came with many barriers. Scholarships like this one helped level the playing field, and I am grateful for the reviewers before me who saw potential and valued diversity. It is my absolute privilege to pay it forward and support Livermore students in achieving their educational goals.”
