The 2018 Leo Croce Undergraduate Scholar, Rachel Roter was a four-year member of the Granada Varsity Golf Team. Off the course she gained experience teaching in the classroom through an ROP internship and volunteered with the First Tee of the Tri-Valley. Because of her interest in education, she was awarded a scholarship in honor of Leo Croce. She writes:
I will be studying Elementary Education and studying to become a Kindergarten, 1st, or 2nd grade teacher. I have been working with children throughout high school by doing an ROP internship at Joe Michell Elementary School in a 1st grade classroom, as well as teaching golf and life skills at the First Tee of Tri-Valley to young children. I am so excited to start the next chapter of my life at CCU, and I am so thankful for the scholarship.
Rachel will be attending Colorado Christian University in the Fall of 2018 where she will be playing Division II Women’s Golf.
