All seven of the 9th grade Pedrozzi Young Scholars attended the College Information Day on October 12th at UC Berkeley, hosted by the East Bay Consortium. The program exists to provide middle and high school students and families the opportunity to explore the infinite higher education options that lay ahead of them.

All students and families were welcomed by Monica Montenegro of East Bay Consortium and Cal-SOAP and Robert Penman of UC Berkeley followed by an Admission Information panel. During the panel, the Scholars and families heard from representatives from UC Berkeley, St. Mary’s College, Cal State East Bay, and Peralta Community College District. The Scholars and families attended various workshops. Topics of workshops included career exploration, college admission tests, and financial aid information.

The Scholars took a tour of UC Berkeley. They also attended a college fair, with over 50 representatives from colleges and universities throughout the U.S. to offer prospective students a glimpse into their college.

The College Information Day was a great opportunity for the Pedrozzi Young Scholars to learn more about college.
