One of the goals of the Pedrozzi Young Scholars program is to introduce our young scholars to information and resources that will help prepare them for bright futures.

In September, our Pedrozzi Young Scholars had an exciting opportunity to learn about construction management through a presentation by Pedrozzi Scholar Jennifer Padilla.

Jennifer attends California Polytechnic State University- San Luis Obispo, where she is majoring in Construction Management. Jennifer’s presentation provided information about the construction management industry, potential career paths, and even discussed high school courses that would be beneficial in preparing for future construction management related opportunities.

Presentations like these expose future first-generation college students to professional opportunities they may otherwise not have considered. Jennifer is also a Marilyn Avenue Elementary School alumni, which made her words all the more relevant to these students.

Thank you Jennifer for the presentation, and thank you to Katy Munoz and fellow Cal Poly Construction Management major Jonny Zepeda for joining the presentation and sharing their experiences and advice. It is helpful for middle and high schoolers to hear stories about what others wish they had done differently. What a wonderful way to give back to the Pedrozzi Foundation.
