Please join us in welcoming Luis Valdez Rios, our 2025 Summer Intern! You may recognize Luis a member of 2017 Pedrozzi Young Scholar (PYS) cohort. He graduated last year from both Livermore High School and the Las Positas Middle College Program, and he is a 2024 Pedrozzi Scholarship Recipient, specifically the Balan Arakoni Scholarship.
Luis is home for the summer from Northern Arizona University, where he is majoring in nursing. He discovered early on that he was interested in health care – particularly in roles that involve direct patient care. Luis has dedicated many hours to volunteering in hospital settings, where he gained firsthand experience supporting patients and medical staff. These experiences not only reinforced his desire to pursue a career in nursing but also gave him a deeper appreciation for the compassion, resilience, and teamwork required in the field.
We are excited to have Luis on our team this summer and look forward to supporting him as he continues to grow personally and professionally!
