Today we’d love to highlight one of our former scholars. Kyle is a recent graduate of UC Davis with a Bachelor’s in Political Science.

Kyle says:

As a scholarship recipient, I could focus on my studies and advocacy work instead of the financial stressors the system places on students. Through my time at UC Davis, I led substantial advocacy efforts with my peers, advocating to the state legislature to increase financial aid to underrepresented students, increase equitable access to our higher education system, and support students who experienced sexual violence. I was able to teach young and new students how to engage in advocacy work and lead them to attend educational conferences where students learned leadership skills.

I am excited to inform you that I have graduated from UC Davis with a B.A in Political Science – Public Service and a minor in Communications. I graduated with a 3.96 GPA, a member of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, and a member of The National Political Science Honor Society of Pi Sigma Alpha.

Once again, thank you for your support. The foundation’s unmatched commitment to student success empowers us to achieve our goals. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me achieve my goals.

This fall, I will participate in the Jesse M. Unruh Assembly Fellowship. In this 11-month program, I will work in a legislative office full-time, learning essential skills needed to work in the policy world and become a leader in this state. Additionally, I will take a course through CSU Sacramento’s Center for California Studies to hone my research and writing skills while completing a capstone project.

We wish Kyle congratulations and the best of luck taking on the next stage of his life. We are so proud of everything you’ve accomplished!
