We are proud to highlight Katie Madsen, a 2026 Pedrozzi Scholar who will be attending SDSU this fall to study Environmental Science. In high school, Katie was very involved in her community. She participated in several music ensembles, is about to earn her Gold Award as a member of Girl Scouts, and is serving as summer camp staff for Scouting America this summer. Katie is excited to build on this foundation by continuing her involvement in music and environmental organizations in San Diego.
Katie shares:
“In the fall, I will be attending San Diego State University to study Environmental Science! This scholarship will benefit me immensely by allowing me to focus more on my studies by reducing the financial burden of tuition…Thank you again for your support and for making this opportunity possible. I am committed to working hard and making the most of this investment in my education.”
As a recipient of the Joseph P. McMenamin Ecology and Environmental Sciences Scholarship, Katie expresses her gratitude to Patrick and Madeline McMenamin and the Pedrozzi Foundation for helping to make this next chapter possible.
Congratulations, Katie! We wish you all the best at SDSU this fall.
