We are proud to feature Karen Padilla Preciado, a 2024 Pedrozzi Scholar and Pedrozzi Young Scholar, who has just completed an amazing first year at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.

Karen’s time at Cal Poly has been filled with growth, discovery, and achievement. She successfully secured a summer internship with a local company in her field, navigated the transition to college life with newfound independence, and built meaningful relationships with professors and friends. Along the way, she deepened her passion for her studies and rediscovered her love for the outdoors, exploring California’s natural beauty between classes and projects.

Academically, Karen has excelled, earning a spot on the Dean’s List every quarter. She credits much of her success to the ongoing mentorship and support of the Pedrozzi Foundation. “I could not have accomplished all of my discoveries without the critical help and mentorship from the Pedrozzi Foundation, both past and ongoing,” she shares.

Congratulations, Karen! From her early days as a Pedrozzi Young Scholar to her current achievements at Cal Poly, she continues to embody the Foundation’s values of excellence, service, and perseverance.
