2013 Granada High School alum and Pedrozzi Scholar, Jordan Atchinson valued her life-long friendships from GHS and appreciated their continuous support while attending college halfway across the country in Dallas.
A 2015 graduate from University of Texas at Dallas, Jordan received her BS in Psychology with a Minor in Literary Studies and graduated 1 year early. Now back in Livermore for a “gap year”, Jordan has applied for Ph.D. programs for Clinical Psychology while working as a Behavioral Therapist for autistic children. “The relationships formed with clients and the various opportunities available are what motivated me to pursue this career path” according to Jordan.
Jordan chose UTD for its renowned Behavioral and Brain Science department. Always wanting to work in healthcare, Jordan is pursuing a doctorate as a Clinical Psychologist with the career goal of working with either the prison population or autistic children.
While at UTD, Jordan was exposed to many new interests such as the extensive local art and music scene, learning about the third-wave coffee culture while working as a barista, and training for/running a marathon. As President of the UTD Rock Climbing Club, Jordan traveled to several climbing destinations in Texas, Arkansas and Colorado and is now saving for her dream trip to Kalymnos in Greece.
“The Pedrozzi Foundation is doing an amazing job supporting Livermore students,” shares Jordan.
