We are excited to spotlight Fernando Arizmendi, a 2024 Pedrozzi Scholar and former Pedrozzi Young Scholar. Fernando will be entering his third year at the University of Nevada, Reno this fall, and he is excited to continue his studies in Civil Engineering. After a successful first and second year, Fernando’s excellent grades earned him a spot on the Dean’s List for the College of Engineering. This year, Fernando is looking forward to adding a minor in Construction Management, continuing his involvement in extracurriculars, and spending time with friends.
Fernando shares:
“I would like to say thanks one again for this scholarship. This amount has helped a lot this year into releasing some of the financial stress that is coming with my third year at the University of Nevada Reno. For my Sophomore Year as a Civil Engineer, I managed to get on the Deans List for College of Engineering for both semesters, which I am extremely proud of. I knew that this year was going to be challenging and I set my expectations low for grades since I didn’t want to get stressed as to getting perfect grades. Even so, I managed to get all A’s in my classes against all odds, so that is a huge achievement. These grades have also helped me get other scholarships, which is really surprising.”
As a recipient of the Balan Arakoni Undergraduate Scholarship, Fernando expresses his gratitude to Balan Arakoni and the Pedrozzi Foundation for contributing to his education.
Congratulations, Fernando! We wish you all the best at UNR this fall.
