Dear Pedrozzi Community Members,
During this time of uncertainty, we are certain about this: the Pedrozzi Foundation is committed to continuing our mission of encouraging and supporting Livermore students in their pursuit of education and training.
Supporting Pedrozzi Scholars
As students adapt to distance learning and online options, we have reached out to our Pedrozzi Scholars to ensure they have the necessary tools to keep up their studies. Access to a laptop or computer, internet, and various software is essential. We will continue to stay in touch with our Pedrozzi Scholars and offer support where needed. If you are a Pedrozzi Scholar in need, please reach out to us.
Supporting Pedrozzi Young Scholars
We will also continue to offer support to our Pedrozzi Young Scholars and their families. We are making sure they are receiving important messages from the school district and utilizing the resources offered by the district.
Supporting the Local Community
We also want to support the Livermore community by passing along information, websites, and ideas to help you during the coronavirus pandemic.
Interested in education and mental health resources? Check out the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District’s website for amazing educational resources. We also recommend the District’s Mental Health website. Last summer, Pedrozzi Scholar Benjamin Smithassisted in the creation of the Mental Health website.
Wishing for a variety of entertainment options? Your local Livermore Public Library has an entire digital library, where you can access free ebooks, movies, audiobooks, magazines, and more.
Want to plan a “treat yourself” day for the future? Consider buying a gift certificate from Purple Orchid Wine Country Resort & Spa for a stay or spa services in the future. Purple Orchid has been supporting the Foundation for many years by hosting the Music in the Orchard summer concert series.
Need ideas for places to order takeout? Consider ordering to-go or curbside takeout from Posada. In 2019, Posada on Wheels supported the Foundation by participating in Purple Orchid’s Music in the Orchard.
Having trouble finding groceries? Consider checking out Hop Devine‘s weekly grocery and meat stock boxes and pre-made dinner options. In 2018, Hop Devine supported the Foundation by participating in Purple Orchid’s Music in the Orchard.
Feeling thirsty? For those over 21, consider purchasing wine from Nottingham Cellars and opt for curbside delivery. In the past, Nottingham Cellars has generously donated wine for Foundation events. Nottingham Cellars also partnered with Purple Orchid to support Music in the Orchard since its inception. Altamont Beer Works, who has also supported the Foundation at Music in the Orchard, is offering curbside to-go orders on beer. You may have also seen musician and Pedrozzi supporter, Meredith McHenry, on Altamont Beer Works’ Instagram Live Happy Hour!
Final Words
As we adapt to the quickly changing times, know that the Pedrozzi Foundation is focusing on mission critical activities. We will continue supporting Livermore students and are committed to creating new opportunities and ways to do so.
We are grateful to all our dedicated volunteers and donors who continue to support our work as they are themselves adapting to a new normal. It has been heartwarming to hear about how the Livermore community is coming together to support each other and be a little friendlier while out and about – while maintaining social distancing, of course. We appreciate being part of such a caring and kind community.
