The Alameda County Board of Supervisors presented a county commendation “to recognize the Pedrozzi Scholarship Foundation for its significant contributions to the citizens of Livermore and Alameda County.” The commendation also acknowledges:
“Whereas, the Pedrozzi Scholarship Foundation encourages and assists Livermore students in their pursuit of higher education and advanced training by providing scholarships, information, and other resources; and
Whereas, scholarships are available for technical/vocational, community college, undergraduate and graduate studies; and
Whereas, the Pedrozzi Scholarship Foundation has recently awarded $393,000 to one hundred twenty-two Livermore students. The 2015 Pedrozzi Scholars include community college, vocational school, undergraduate and graduate students, 20% of whom are the first in their families to attend college. In the fall, they will be studying throughout California and across the country, but they all have one thing in common – they all graduated from a Livermore high school and give back to their community; and
Whereas, the Pedrozzi Scholarship Foundation annually awards scholarships to graduates of high schools in the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District; and scholarships are available to eligible students of all ages whose higher education goals range from vocational certifications to graduate degrees; and
Whereas, since 2008, seven hundred sixty-nine Pedrozzi Scholars have been awarded more than $2.7M to help fund college or vocational training; and
Whereas, the Pedrozzi Scholarship Foundation continues to fulfill its vision with goals that have expanded over the years to respond to a changing world, centering on the needs of our students in the Livermore area and Alameda County.
Now, Therefore, this Board of Supervisors, County of Alameda, State of California, does hereby recognize the contributions the Pedrozzi Scholarship Foundation has made in education within the Livermore community, and to all of Alameda County, and commends for its commitment and dedication to delivering quality services which are innovation and responsive to students’ needs; and
Furthermore, Supervisor Scott Haggerty, representing Livermore extends his deep gratitude and appreciation to the Pedrozzi Scholarship Foundation.”
