We love to catch up with our scholars whenever we can! Here’s what advice Candice Evenson, a 2009 Pedrozzi Scholar, advised current and future Pedrozzi scholars:
Get the most out of those four years. It’s not about getting the grade–it’s about getting to know yourself and expanding the limits of your potential. With the right attitude, the high grade tends to follow.
If something interests you even a little, take the opportunity to learn more and chances are you’ll be pleasantly surprised where it leads you. If you treat every class as an opportunity to sharpen a skill then every course (be it big or small) will become personally relevant. Take pride in the quality of your work but don’t be discouraged by your weaknesses–you are still learning. Rather than coming up with ways to avoid what you do not understand tap into your professors’ wealth of knowledge. Ask questions.
