arianda-dangWhile training at Quantico, Cuba is not the typical college experience, for Ariadna Dang, 2013 Livermore High School alum and Pedrozzi Scholar, it is just another aspect of her United States Naval Academy (USNA) education that she describes simply as a wonderful experience.

Aria has traveled extensively both domestically and internationally. In the Fall 2015, Aria attended a semester at the United States Military Academy at West Point. Later in the school year, the USNA sent Aria to Greece and Sweden to study Gender Equality and Leadership in the military.

An outstanding student-athlete, Aria was a member of the Navy Women’s Crew Team which won the Patriot League and raced in NCAA Rowing Championships in Sacramento. Aria was also named to the Patriot League’s 2016 Women’s Rowing Academic Honor Roll.

With an overall GPA of 3.9 (86th out of 1098 in her graduating class) and training at Quantico, Aria’s certainly on track to reach her goal of being commissioned as a well prepared Marine Corps Officer, upon her May 2017 graduation.

“The Pedrozzi scholarship I was granted is helping me to pay for all of these experiences”, states Aria.
