We are proud to highlight Alexa Sumitra, a 2024 Pedrozzi Scholar currently studying Real Estate Development at the University of Southern California (USC).
Alexa has found a perfect fit in her program, which blends finance, policy, and urban planning in ways that challenge her to think both critically and creatively. This summer, she’s bringing those skills into the real world through an internship with the Port of Oakland’s Commercial Real Estate Division, where she’s making a tangible impact on the Bay Area community.
“I’m thankful that this public sector experience has given me the chance to make a direct impact on the Bay Area—just as Mario Pedrozzi did through his community-focused initiatives,” she shares.
Alexa expresses deep gratitude to the Pedrozzi Foundation for its belief in her. As she looks ahead to a career in community-centered development, she hopes to honor Mr. Pedrozzi’s legacy by creating spaces that serve and uplift others.
Congratulations, Alexa — we’re excited to see how your path continues to grow from here.
