In honor of Alan’s father, Francis “Buzz” Burnham, Livermore residents Alan and Mary Burnham are funding multiple Francis Burnham Vocational Scholarships.
Buzz was a longtime vocational training advocate. He taught industrial arts, vocational training and adult education and was active in the Iowa Vocational Industrial Clubs or America, now SkillsUSA. “My father thought it was important to treat all students with respect and help those who did not relate to the traditional academic program learn the skills needed for a productive and rewarding careers. Mary and I appreciate being able to honor my father’s advocacy and service by funding scholarships, and helping the same type of students my father was passionate about supporting,” shares Alan.
